Enhancements continue at the Cinematheque! In about four weeks time, our projection booth will welcome a new addition – a Sony JH3 HDCAM Compact Player. Thanks to a $20,000 award from British Columbia Arts Council’s Capacity and Sustainability funding program, we are finally able to purchase a player that will allow us to use our HD projector to its full capacity.

The new HDCAM player will help us serve artists and audiences better by allowing us meet the professional standards of presentation expected from a Cinematheque. Translation – we can show you more films in their intended format!

In a time when the arts are facing devastating budget cuts, we are excited (and feel very lucky!) to be adding new equipment. Our first HDCAM presentation is scheduled for June 2010. Watch our program guide for more details.
