An Upgrade to the Film Reference Library

News Release Date:
9 March 2010

I am pleased to announce yet another upgrade at Pacific Cinematheque! We have finally taken a big leap into the 21st century and upgraded our Film Reference Library catalogue software.

Library? Yes, the Cinematheque has one of the largest film reference libraries in Western Canada. With over 2,400 books dedicated to all things cinema, you can find information on everything from Directors to Films to Theory and Education. The library also contains periodicals, film stills, film encyclopedias, dictionaries, annual almanacs, distributor catalogues and international film festival guides. It is a great resource for film students and cinephiles alike.

The Film Reference Library is fully cataloged and housed in our administration offices at 1131 Howe Street. The library is open to the public and available by appointment. The upgrade to our software has made it much more user friendly. If you are still in need of help, our volunteer librarian Betty Lou is always happy to help.

If you would like to visit the library, call our office at 604.688.8202.
