Pacific Cinematheque hosted its first annual silent auction fundraiser SCENE at the chic Canvas Gallery on Thursday, October 23rd, 2008. A near sold-out crowd enjoyed a selection of gourmet canapés, cocktails, film projections, lounge music and even had a chance to star in their own one minute silent film. Co-hosts Jacqueline Samuda and CBC’s Fred Lee kept guests entertained as they bid feverously over a number of items at what can only be described as a cinephile’s dream silent auction. In total, the event raised over $21,000!
